Small country thinks big screen

Small country thinks big screen: Cyprus Cinema – Hurdles and Breakthroughs, by Costas Constandinides and David Hands is an academic documentary that provides insights into the evolving landscape of Cypriot and Cyprus-based cinema. Through interviews with practitioners, the documentary explores, the significance of small-scale creative industries and the dynamics of the “transnational turn” in Cypriot cinema. This work contributes to ongoing scholarly debates on small cinemas and transnational film practices. The documentary is part of a broader research endeavour that examines these issues in depth, while at the same time, as a product of this research, it demonstrates how audiovisual communication can play a vital role in the presentation and dissemination of academic study.
